For the system to work it is necessary to have installed and launched the app. When the phone is in sleep mode, if the application is on it will continue monitoring in the background. However, we recommend leaving the phone on for more security since some smartphone can kill background app to save battery life.
The range of the beacon is 100 m in an open environment but as soon as it is immersed
the signal is blocked so you just need to put the bracelet underwater to trigger an alarm, no need to go a 100 meters away.
Monitoring beacon is performed using Bluetooth and GPS network so no need for cell phone coverage. However, the SMS sending option can only be performed under GSM coverage with valid cell phone plan.
To see if the beacon is on, just press the button briefly, if the beacon vibrates, it is on. Otherwise, you must press and hold the button to activate the beacon.
When the battery is weak, the beacon beeps every 3 minutes to tell you that the battery needs to be replaced.
The SMS is sent by the application using an automatic SMS sending server.
To turn the beacon off, just leave it alone. If no movement is detected for 6 hours, the bracelet turns itself off. Otherwise you can always remove the battery.
The application saves the position at the time of the fall, it is not able to follow a drifting object. It gives you the header and the distance to return to the point of fall.
The system does not turn on when it comes into contact with water, the bracelet emits a continuous signal which is blocked by water. So when the bracelet is immersed, it is as if it was off. It is a principle of positive security that limits failure problems and makes the system more secure.
Unlike other systems that are limited, our system has no limit on the number of bracelets that you can monitor with a phone.
The beacon has an autonomy of 600 hours of continuous emission (~25 days).
It is possible to monitor a beacon with several smartphones, just download the free app and scan the QR code of the beacon you wish to monitor.
